Samsung’s latest Series 9
There have been a number of updates since the original Series 9 launched in 2011. It’s even thinner and lighter – Samsung says it’s the ‘world’s thinnest and most compact premium notebook’, it measures only half an inch thick and weighs 1.16kg. Battery life is impressive at a claimed 7 hours so you should be able to take it out for a working day without running dry. The viewing angle on the display has also been increased, as has the screen resolution on the 1,600 x 900 LCD display.
It looks different too. At CES Samsung told us they’d listened to consumer feedback on a number of counts, including removing the plastic cover that surrounded the keyboard. It’s 100% aluminium body goes with the high quality look you’d expect from a premium model of this price.
We’ll be purchasing this model as soon as it goes on sale and getting it straight to our lab experts. You’ll be able to see the verdict in our laptops reviews below in around 6 weeks time.
