Deal of the week: save £231 on a Silentnight memory foam mattress

Get 65% off the RRP and free delivery

We’ve found the Silentnight 3-Zone Memory Foam Rolled mattress discounted by a huge £231 – that’s 65% – on Amazon. But how did it perform in Which? tests?

The Silentnight 3-Zone Memory Foam mattress is made from foam that moulds to your body. Silentnight claims its Miratex technology means that when one person moves, the mattress will absorb the movement, meaning the other person is undisturbed.

Mattress reviews

This sounds great, but how much support does the Silentnight 3-Zone mattress give your spine? And does it suit side-sleepers or those who lie on their back better?

Read our Silentnight 3-Zone Memory Foam mattress review to find out how well it performed in our lab tests.

How we test mattresses

Which? tests more memory foam mattresses than anybody else, and as we pay for all the mattresses we test you can rest assured that our reviews are completely independent.

  • The level of support mattresses offer can vary hugely. We measure the shapes of our testers’ bodies both when they’re standing up and lying on the mattress as your spine should be in the same position whether you’re upright or lying down.
  • In our labs we simulate 10 years’ worth of use to see whether memory foam mattresses get harder or softer over time. Best Buy mattresses retain their original level of firmness for several years.
  • Sharing a bed can eventually lead to a dip in the middle of the mattress – we test the likelihood of this happening by rolling heavy barrels over the mattress thousands of times, simulating long-term use.

Deal of the week

The double size of the Silentnight 3-Zone Memory Foam mattress is currently £127.20 including delivery and a five-year warranty at Amazon. This is a discount of £231.80 on the RRP of £359. The single, king and super king sizes have also been reduced.

If you’ve spotted the mattress cheaper elsewhere, please let us know by emailing bargains@which.co.uk. All prices correct at 10am on Friday 11 October 2013.
