Which? reveals new Best Buy and Don’t Buy washing machines

Latest washing machines reviewed and rated

We’ve put another 10 washing machines through the Which? test lab and found a new Best Buy that will give your clothes a cracking clean. We also uncovered two stain-skipping Don’t Buys that should be avoided.

Out latest test included washing machines from big brands such as Hotpoint, Indesit, Beko and LG. We also rated a model from lesser-known German brand Blomberg to see if it has what it takes to earn our coveted Which? Best Buy recommendation.

Among the models from these brands are cheap washing machines, models that come in colours such as black, silver and stainless steel, and a washing machine that claims to be so quiet that you could run it at night without it disturbing your sleep.

Which? puts big claims like these to the test and reveals which are the best models in the shops. Find which models come out on top by checking out the Best Buy washing machines. If you’re not yet a Which? member, get instant access to all our independent reviews by signing up for a £1 trial.

Good washer or water waster?

Several of the models we’ve tested use quite a lot of water compared to other machines when washing your clothes – but the most energy and water efficient models we’ve seen don’t always give a good clean.

One LG washing machine we’ve tested uses 50% more water than the average model on the cotton cycle – but does it give a great clean in return, or is it just a drain on resources? Read our review of this LG F12B8QDA to find out.

Silver, black and cheap washing machines

Not everybody wants white-coloured white goods, and several models we’ve tested come in different colours – black, silver and stainless steel.

We’ve also tested several washing machines around the £300 mark and a Beko washing machine that is currently available for under £200 in Argos. Find out if these machines are a bargain to be snatched up by heading to our washing machine reviews.
