Trio of new Which? Best Buy microwaves unveiled

Find out which new microwaves are Best Buys

Find out which of the latest microwaves we’ve tested are Best Buy products

We’ve just tested 11 new microwaves and can reveal that three have scored well enough in our tests to become Which? Best Buys.

All three excelled in our core heating and defrosting tests, heating meals quickly without drying them out and defrosting food properly without starting to cook it.

One of our new Best Buys incorporates an excellent grill, allowing you to grill bacon or make toast in addition to nuking your leftovers, but all three pack in a range of extra functions and features.

Expensive and cheap microwaves

Our latest batch of tested microwaves range from budget offerings to top-of-the line built-in models. We’ve tested products from Asda, Ikea, Panasonic, Samsung and more, and there are some surprising results.

As well as traditional microwaves we’ve also tried out some with a built-in grill, plus combi models in which you can even cook a roast dinner.

The full list of our latest tested products is as follows:

  • Asda EM717CXN-PMB
  • Asda P80D20ETP-YWA
  • Sharp R-372SLM
  • Neff C57W40N3GB

Microwave tests

In all microwaves we use a synthetic lasagna replica to judge heating, and a block of frozen mince to test defrosting. And we also put grill and combi models through our toast and cake baking tests respectively. Plus we rate each microwave for noise, ease of use and ease of cleaning.

So whatever type of microwave you’re looking for, we can tell you its pros and cons and whether it’s good enough overall to deserve your cash.
