The technology world has been abuzz with breaking news and product announcements this week, as Mobile World Congress got underway. The Which? Technology team were in attendance to put the latest tablets, phones and smartwatches through their paces.

We got our hands on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Tablet Z2, LG G2 Mini and Nokia X. Then there was the latest in wearable tech to try out, from Samsung’s Gear Fit to Sony’s Core – a device that tracks every move you make.

Away from all the excitement of MWC 2014, we also bring news of Amazon’s switching of its LoveFilm Instant video streaming service to Amazon Prime Instant Video. We examine what the new pricing structure means for existing LoveFilm subscribers.

This year’s Mobile World Congress has seen the likes of Samsung, Sony and Nokia all launch eye-catching handsets, with features such as 4K video capture and even heart rate monitoring.

From the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 to the Android-powered Nokia X, we’ve been able to get our hands on all of them. Find out which phones have particularly impressed us at MWC 2014.

Sony Core SmartWear – log your life

Neither smartwatch nor fitness band, the Sony Core – which resembles nothing more than a tiny plastic box – represents a different take on wearable tech.

The life-logging device not only monitors your movement – from walking and running, to biking and car journeys – but also records you texts, social media messages and photos to create a digital record of every day of your life.

Samsung wears it well – Gear 2, Gear Neo and Gear Fit announced

At MWC 2014 Samsung went as far as announcing three new smartwatches: the Gear 2, Gear Neo and Gear Fit. And, with the Gear 2 and Gear Neo both being reminiscent of last year’s Galaxy Gear, it was the Gear Fit that really looked the part. 

With got our hands on the Gear 2 and Neo, as well as the Gear Fit. Plus we took the time to compare the Gear 2 to the Pebble Steel to see which is the smartest watch for your wrist.

Credits roll on LoveFilm as Amazon Prime prices go up

If you’re a LoveFilm Instant subscriber, you’ll notice that from today your service has switched to the rather less romantic moniker of Amazon Prime Instant Video.
