Asda recalls Plastic Toasters over shock risk

Customers advised to return to store for refund

Asda Plastic Toasters recall

Recalled Models; KS-2418B, KS-2418W, KS-2118B, KS-2118W, KS-2118S

Asda is recalling its Plastic Toasters due to possible risk of electric shock. This follows its recall of Plastic Kettles in March 2014 because of a potential fire safety risk.

The recall affects Asda’s toasters with the name Plastic Toasters. To help identify the product that needs to be recalled, there is a label on the base of the product that will include the following code: Model Number KS-2418B / KS-2418W / KS-2118B / KS-2118W /KS-2118S.

Asda also recalled it’s Plastic Kettles in March this year.

Do you own this Toaster?

If you bought the Asda Plastic Toaster, then Asda advises that you return it to your local store for a full refund or dispose of the toaster.

As well as the model numbers listed above it should also have one of these barcodes:

Asda Plastic Toasters Black & White 4-slice
Price: £17.96

Asda Plastic Toasters Black, White & Silver 2-slice
Price: £9.96

If you own an affected model, you should return it to any Asda store for a full refund, no receipt is needed. For more information about the recall you can contact Asda customer relations on 0800 952 0101.

What should you do if you have a recalled product?

If you think you have a recalled product, contact the manufacturer immediately, as it may be unsafe to keep using it.

If a manufacturer recalls a product, it is obligated to try and ensure its products are safe. This is often done by repairing the problem but smaller items may just be refunded.
