Consumers can set up free one-to-one sessions with professional financial planners this week, in recognition of Financial Planning Week.

The annual campaign, which runs from 23-29 November, was created by The Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) in order to raise awareness of the importance of financial planning.

You can book a session with a professional financial planner on the IFP website

Financial planning surgeries

Those attending a financial planning surgery can discuss a broad range of topics including retirement planning, how to get out of debt, elderly care, writing a will, savings and investments

Individuals who are not able to attend a free financial planning surgery can use the IFP’s online Ask a Planner facility.

Sue Whitbread, IFP communications director said: ‘We’re delighted to offer consumers around the UK the opportunity to discuss their financial situation with an expert Financial Planner.

‘I really hope that as many people as possible take advantage of these free financial planning surgeries which will provide really practical support for people wishing to have better control over their finances.’
