Look out for frequent offers on branded dishwasher tablets to start saving

Which? research has discovered that major supermarkets are selling big brand dishwasher tablets at half price for around a third of the year. So take advantage of prices of £6 or below on boxes of 30 to save money.

Big prices don’t guarantee Best Buy cleaning, however. Our latest tests of dishwasher tablets uncovered great value supermarket Best Buys that cost as little as 10p per wash – compared with 27p per wash for a branded Best Buy.

We know that price is an important factor for 60% of you* when choosing dishwasher tablets. So we tracked two products from market-leading brands Fairy and Finish for a year (Dec 13 to Nov 14) using independent online shopping website Mysupermarket.co.uk.

We tracked the price of Fairy Platinum All in One Original and Finish Quantum Max Powerball dishwasher tablets in boxes of 30 at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. Both can cost £12, but we don’t think it’s worth paying more than half that.

We found them for £6 or less for four months of the year at two of these supermarkets.

Dishwasher tablets on offer

Fairy Platinum All in One dishwasher tablets cost £4 at their cheapest, and Finish Quantum Max Powerball cost £5 – both at Asda. However, you’ll need to keep a keen look out to spot these low prices; they were respectively available for 28 days and 43 days over the course of the year.

To find out where you’re most likely to find branded dishwasher tablets for £6 or less, based on our data, take a look at our latest full dishwasher detergent results.
