Tesco will allow users of its new Tesco Pay + app to collect 25% more Clubcard points for the rest of this year.
The offer was initially introduced back in September to celebrate the revamped app and now it’s back allowing shoppers to boost points for the whole of 2018.
Here’s how to take advantage of the offer and other ways to boost your Clubcard points balance.
Pay with the app
You normally earn one Clubcard point per £1 spend at Tesco, but you can earn five points for every £4 spent when you pay with the Tesco Pay + app.
The app is available on Android and iOS and lets you store your credit or debit card details so you can quickly pay for your shopping and automatically collect points.
The deal was initially launched on 27 September 2017 to mark the launch of the app and expired on 28 February 2018, but Tesco has brought it back.
Now the 25% points boost offer is available until 31 December 2018, so you can earn more each time you shop and use the app to pay for the rest of the year.
If you don’t fancy using your phone to pay, here are some other tips to boost your Clubcard balance.
Share your opinion
Tesco will give you 25 Clubcard points and the chance to win a £1,000 Tesco gift card when you share your thoughts on how the supermarket is doing using the Tesco Views survey.
To enter the survey you need to take the four-digit code from a recent receipt and enter it online.
You can also register for Shopper Thoughts and collect points every time you complete a survey. The points on offer vary but you can usually get about 100 points for a 15-minute questionnaire.
Open a Tesco bank account
The Tesco Bank Current Account offers Clubcard points when you spend on your debit card.
You’ll get one extra Clubcard point for every £1 you spend on your debit card at Tesco until 1 April 2019 or one per £8 spent elsewhere.
The Tesco Bank Current Account offers 3% guaranteed interest on balances up to £3,000 until 1 April 2019 when you pay in £750 and have at least three active Direct Debits.
Tesco Bank has a 70% customer score making it a Which? Recommended Provider.

Fill up at Tesco
Next time you need to refuel try and seek out a Tesco or Esso station.
You can collect one Clubcard point for every £2 spent on Tesco forecourts or one point for every £3 spent at Esso forecourts with a Tesco shop.
You can also get one point for every two litres of petrol or diesel from Esso-branded station and one point for every £1 spent on car washes or other in-store purchases.
Use a Tesco credit card
Tesco’s range of Clubcard credit cards can also help you rack up points on your everyday spending.
You can earn one extra Clubcard point for every £4 spent in store and one point for every £8 spent elsewhere.
The Tesco Bank Purchase Card is worth considering if you want to spread the cost of a big ticket item. It offers 28 months 0% on new spending. Just make sure you clear the balance before interest kicks in at 18.98% APR.
Switch to Tesco Mobile
Tesco Mobile, which uses the O2 network, offers Clubcard points to pay-as-you-go and pay monthly customers.
Pay monthly customers can collect one Clubcard point for every £1 of their bill while PAYG customers can get the same based on top-ups made in-store, online or over the phone.
You’ll need to register your Clubcard with Tesco Mobile to start receiving points. You can do this via your online account or by texting ‘CLUBCARD’ to 28578 – free from your mobile.
Get a Tesco mortgage
Tesco Bank’s ranges of mortgages also come with the chance to rack up Clubcard points.
It offers two-, three- and five-year fixed-rate deals with loan-to-values of up to 95% or there is two-year tracker mortgage with an LTV of up to 90%.
If you take out a mortgage you can collect one point for every £4 of your monthly repayments, including overpayments. These points get added to your Clubcard account every six weeks.
However, you won’t collect any points on fees or charges or any overpayment that repays your mortgage in full.
Don’t just take out a Tesco mortgage for the sake of the extra points, though. Make sure you shop around and compare mortgages before jumping in.
Make your points go further
You can boost the value of your points with Clubcard partners.
Normally each Clubcard points is worth 1p when you spend them at Tesco. So 250 points is worth £2.50.
But you can swap Clubcard vouchers for tokens worth between two and four times the value at partners like Prezzo and London Zoo.
Just remember that, from 10 June, Tesco will be standardising the boost to three times the value at all partners.
While some offers will improve, a few that normally offer four times the value will get worse, so act now to make your points go further.
