Virgin Media’s latest offer, exclusive to Which? Switch Broadband, gives new customers bill credit on its entry-level fibre package, as well as free set up and a discounted monthly price.
Although not known for offering discounts on its broadband deals, Virgin Media is giving new customers a £75 bill credit on its M50 Fibre Broadband package, which has average speeds of 54Mbps.
The deal is being offered at a discounted price of £26 a month – a pound a month less than if you go direct. M50 Fibre is on a short 12-month contract, suited to those not looking for a long commitment.
The offer also waives setup costs, usually £35, for new customers. This leads to a total saving of £122 over the year versus going direct. M50 Fibre Broadband also comes with free weekend landline calls, and free servicing and repairs if there are issues with your broadband.
What broadband speed is right for me?
Virgin Media is well known for its fast fibre broadband, with packages going up to an average speed of 362Mbps. This might seem faster than you’ll need, but with a wide range of packages and prices available across providers, there are plenty of options. Our guide to broadband speeds has more information on standard and fibre broadband, and how to work out which is best for your needs.
If you are concerned that the speed you are getting is low, or not what your provider has promised, our broadband speed-checker tool can help you find out.
And if you do decide it’s time for a change of provider, don’t be afraid to switch. We’ve often found it’s possible to pay less for fibre than standard broadband, especially if you’re no longer benefiting from an introductory offer. In July 2019, introductory offers for superfast services started from just £17.50, so you could even stand to save.
