What is the Lidl Barbecue Pizza Oven?

It’s a small metal barbecue pizza oven topper designed to sit on the cooking area of your gas or charcoal barbecue.

As your gas fuel or charcoal burn underneath, the oven heats up to cook the pizza inside.

Pizza is placed on the removable square pizza stone, and the thermostat built into the hood will keep you informed as to how hot the oven is getting.

The cooking area of your barbecue will need to be at least 40 x 35cm to fit the Barbecue Pizza Oven on it, so check the size of your gas or charcoal barbecue to make sure it can fit comfortably before you buy one.

How does it work?

The base under the pizza stone is perforated, so the smoky barbecue heat and smoke can rise up from underneath, heat up the pizza stone and infuse the pizza with barbecue flavour.

The removable pizza stone that sits on the base is made of cordierite, which is a mineral often used for stonebaking due to its resistance to extremely high temperatures and its moisture-absorbent properties.

This helps crisp up the base from underneath and avoid leaving you with a bubbling top and a soggy base. The hood heats up along with the stone to retain the hot air for longer and cook the pizza evenly.

Once you place the pizza oven on your grill the whole oven will get very hot, so be careful not to touch the handles once its heating.
