How we uncovered the best reusable nappy brand

In July 2020, we asked 307 parents about the reusable nappy brands they currently use and the brands they’ve used in the past year.

They scored each brand from one (very poor) to five (excellent) on each of the following:

  • Absorbency
  • Comfort
  • Ease of use
  • Fit
  • Value for money.

We also calculated an overall customer score for each brand based on how satisfied parents were with the brand, and whether they would recommend them to friends and family.

Are more people switching to reusable nappies?

Pile of reusable nappies next to pile of disposable nappies

In March 2020, we surveyed 1,625 parents about the nappies their children use.

Some 16% told us they currently use reusable nappies. Of those who don’t use them for their child, 55% said that they would consider switching to reusable nappies in the future.

Reusable nappies have seen a surge in popularity since lockdown started, with reusable nappy brand TotsBots reporting a 700% hike in sales.

Many parents have turned to reusables after struggling to get hold of disposable nappies during the coronavirus pandemic.

As well as not having to worry about constantly restocking your nappy supply, opting for reusable nappies can save you money and benefit the environment by reducing the number of nappies ending up in landfill.
