Customer reports of exploding glass bottles has prompted the brand to recall thousands of products

Highland Spring recalls bottles of sparkling water due to risk of explosion

Highland Spring is recalling batches of its 750ml glass bottles of Sparkling Spring Water because of a manufacturing fault that could cause the bottles to blow up.

Only a small number of people have reported the bottles exploding, but Highland Spring is issuing the recall on a precautionary basis.

Which Highland Spring products have been recalled?

750ml glass bottles of Highland Spring Sparkling Spring Water

Batches of 750ml glass bottles of Highland Spring Sparkling Spring Water are affected.

Only those products with the specific batch code and best before dates below are being recalled. See the photo above for where you should be able to find this information.

No other Highland Spring products are affected by this issue.

A point of sale notice will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product, explaining to customers why the product is being recalled and letting them know what they need to do.

What should I do if I’ve bought one of the affected products?

If you’ve already purchased a 750ml glass bottles of Highland Spring Sparkling Spring Water, do not drink it. Instead, avoid handling the product unnecessarily, place it in a bag and dispose of it safely.

You can also contact Highland Spring for a full refund – no receipt is required.
