Little known Travelzoo saw off industry giants to be crowned the best hotel booking site in a survey by Which? Travel. The membership-only site, which is free to join, outperformed its better-established rivals Booking.com and Hotels.com with an overall score of 80%. The surprise result also saw another big player, Lastminute.com, left languishing at the bottom of the table with a mediocre 61%.

British Airways has apologised and pledged compensation after admitting that up to 380,000 of its customers could have had their card details stolen in a data breach.
