How to choose a burglar alarm installer
Our research shows that the advice installers give can vary greatly. Plus, some will charge for useful extras, while others won't.
As well as our tips on choosing an installer, logging in will give you access to our page, where we reveal the average costs of a burglar alarm and installation, based on our survey of more than 2,083 alarm owners.
Burglar alarm brands rated
We've rated two sorts of burglar alarms: bells-only or auto-dial alarms, which you can often buy from DIY shops, and those that come with a monitoring contract. With these, you pay a monthly or annual fee, and a company monitors your alarm for you. Depending on the service you choose, they will either call you or the police when your alarm is triggered.
