Cosatto Hug Isofix review

Product alert

This child car seat has passed the regulatory tests required by ECE R44/04 to be sold as suitable for children from 9kg to 13kg. But in our own tests, which are conducted at higher speeds and forces than the standard requires, the lap belt wasn't held in positon and rode up towards the abdomen, increasing the risk of injury. For this reason, the total test score is limited to the Group 2/3 results, and it drops just below our Don't Buy threshold of 45%.

Reviewed

Cosatto claims to have created the 'next generation of in-car security' with the addition of the '5 Point Plus' anti-escape system to all its Group 1 child car seats, including the Cosatto Hug, a multi-group car seat approved for use for children from 9kg to 36kg (around one to 12 years old). It may stop your toddler escaping, but it's been made a Don't Buy following crash tests. Read the safety alert attached to this review for more information.
