Kids Embrace Friendship Turtles review

Product alert

The Kids Embrace Friendship Group 1/2/3 car seat has passed the regulatory tests required by the ECE R44/04 standard to be sold as suitable for children from 9kg to 36kg, that's from around 12 months up to 12 years old.

However, in our own more stringent tests, which include a tough side-impact crash test (something not included in R44.04), it scored so poorly in Group 3 mode (backless booster seat) that the score is automatically downgraded to just 20% and it's therefore a Don't Buy car seat.

Removing the backrest in this mode offers virtually no side-impact protection at all, so a good score in any of our other tests can't compensate for this poor result.

This Kids Embrace Group 1/2/3 car seat is no doubt appealing to both parents and turtle-obsessed children due to its cheap price point and the heroes in a half shell adorning the seats, but our crash tests uncovered something you need to know about before you buy. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles no doubt save the world from evil, but will this Group 1/2/3 car seat help keep your child safe in the car? No, read the safety alert attached to this review to find out why it's a Don't Buy car seat.
