Mobile phone coverage in Wales

New data from Which? and RootMetrics uncovers the reality of 4G coverage throughout the UK. Find out what it's really like in Wales and see which provider has the best 4G network.

Best network for mobile signal experience in Wales

A new report by RootMetrics has found that EE and Vodafone mobile phone users in Scotland had the best mobile signal experience. Vodafone just edged EE, achieving the highest RootScore of 94.6. EE got a RootScore of 93.7 with Three also getting a score in the 90s.

O2 achieved the lowest score with a respectable 89.6 in RootMetrics testing.

Best network for download speeds in Wales

EE had the highest average download speeds in Wales, clocking in at 35.7Mbps and was followed close behind by Vodafone, which averaged 33.5Mbps

O2 and Three lose out in the testing offering well below the speeds EE and Vodafone attained. O2 recorded the lowest average download speed with 13.1Mbps with Three not performing much better, recording an average download speed of 14.8Mbps

The information used in this analysis comes from a regular collaboration between Which? and coverage experts RootMetrics, and is based on over 580,000 measurements taken from multiple outdoor and indoor locations .
