The Kidde i9080 smoke alarm has an escape light to guide you through a smoky room, as well as a 'hush' feature that silences the alarm for 10 minutes if you accidentally set it off. It comes with replaceable batteries and isn't interlinked, so it will not be suitable for homes in Scotland when the alarms law changes in 2022. The main question is how quickly and loudly does this smoke alarm respond in the event of a real fire? We put it to the test on four different types of fire to find out how quickly it triggers, how loudly it sounds and how bright the escape light actually is. Read on for our verdict, fire test results and the total test score for this Kidde smoke alarm.
