Cuggl Autoclose Metal Gate review
This safety gate failed a test to check whether it could withstand being hit at various points with an impact of 10kg. When it hit in one of the corners, the spindle came loose and the gate dislodged.
It also failed to shut automatically when left to close automatically. As an auto close gate, it should be able to click securely to ensure a child doesn’t then get through the gate because it’s unlocked.
It’s why we’ve made this stair gate a Don’t Buy.
Cuggl is an Argos exclusive brand. An Argos spokesperson told us:
‘All our products have to meet high safety standards and are regularly tested. No issues with these products have been identified but we are investigating these results with our supplier.’
