- 4K Ultra-HD
If you’re in the market for a high-end TV, it often boils down to which brand’s OLEDs should I buy? LG, Panasonic, Sony and Philips makes them. Is Sony’s 55-inch KD-55A85BU (also known as the KD55A85BU) our top choice in the great OLED rivalry, or should you look elsewhere? The answer is a click away.
- Pros and cons
- What is it?
- What’s the picture quality like?
- Images at this resolution are scalpel-sharp and have an impressive depth that gives them a 3D effect. Colours are lovely, too. We’ve seen them look more vibrant, but they’re finely balanced to be neither too gaudy nor too dull. Contrast is where OLEDs excel, being able to turn off each tiny point of light affords enormous control and the A85 makes the most of it. Blacks are thick and oily, while whites have an effervescent shine.
- What about the sound?
- What’s it like to use?
- Is there anything else I should know?
- Should I buy it?
