New Skoda Octavia reviews
The Skoda Octavia comes with a wide variety of powertrains, including some of the latest Volkswagen Group engines and a seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox; some variants are quite basic, but there are also four-wheel-drive models, including the high-riding Scout, and high-performance vRS versions. The Octavia is good value for money, in keeping with Skoda's place as the budget Volkswagen Group brand.

The Octavia represents a cheaper option to VW hatchbacks and saloons. For those with more to carry, the Octavia is also offered as a capacious estate.

Skoda Octavia Estate (2005-)
New price: £14,315 - £25,045
The Octavia Estate is certainly spacious and well-liked by owners, and it's worth a look even if it is starting to look a little long in the tooth.
Used Skoda Octavia reviews
The Skoda Octavia is versatile and roomy - virtues appreciated by both UK police forces, who loved the sporty vRS as a pursuit car, and taxi drivers (diesel models). Check out hard-used secondhand examples carefully. Early Octavias are now well under £1,000, and though reliability has not been impeccable, the high mileages some have clocked up are testament to this car's general durability, especially in diesel form.
