Smeg dishwashers

Italian brand Smeg offers a wide variety of built-in and freestanding dishwashers – including a 50s retro-style range.

We’ve run extensive tests on two Smeg dishwashers in our test lab – the DF612SDX and DF6FABAZ models. To find out how each scored, visit the Which? dishwashers review.

Smeg dishwashers tend to be fairly expensive – the ones we’ve tested typically cost between £400 and £700. If these don’t suit your budget, use our compare dishwashers tool to find one that does.

Smeg dishwashers reviews

In the Which? lab we test dishwashers on a wide range of criteria, and have found a significant difference between the best and worst.

Smeg dishwashers typically score well in our drying tests, and have achieved average to good scores for cleaning. However, scores for electricity consumption when using the normal program range from average to poor, as do scores for noise.

To score models for noise we measure how loud the dishwasher is during filling and washing, then combine this with a subjective rating of how irritating the tone and sound is.

If you’re considering buying a specific Smeg dishwasher, check how well it scores for noise and a variety of other criteria by visiting our dishwashers test results.

The Smeg dishwashers we’ve tested tend to clean fairly quickly – their normal program times range from 1h53m and 2h5m. Both the models we’ve tested come with a delay timer (which is useful if you have an energy tariff like Economy 7 which offers cheaper power overnight) and a height-adjustable upper basket (which can help you fit in large items).
