Affordable Food for All Information

Which? launched the Affordable Food for All campaign last November to present proposals for how people can be supported during the cost of living crisis. As consumer-facing businesses, supermarkets have a crucial role to play. We are calling on them to:
- Make affordable and healthy basic food ranges available across their stores
- Provide clear and transparent pricing for easy value comparison
- Target offers and promotions to those most in need and focus on healthy, affordable basics
Thank you for attending our parliamentary event today - below are links to key evidence, our declaration and our petition page, where you'll find out more about the campaign and how you can support it.
Assessing the availability of supermarket budget ranges report
Supermarket basic ranges provide a vital cheaper option to low income households who may not be able to afford more expensive foods. However, our research has found that essential budget range items are hardly ever available in smaller stores. This means that people who have low mobility or no access to public or private transport to reach a larger supermarket are potentially being forced to buy more expensive foods or go without.
Affordable Food for All report

Our Priority Places for Food Index, developed in partnership with the University of Leeds Consumer Data Research Centre, sets out where in the UK people are most likely to be struggling to access affordable food, and makes recommendations about how supermarkets can help consumers through the cost of food crisis.
Which? and the Food Foundation Declaration

In the midst of this cost of living crisis, Which? and the Food Foundation are urging influential voices, including Parliamentarians, leading academics and civil society organisations, to sign this declaration.
Which?'s Affordable Food for All petition

Our Affordable Food for All campaign page features a petition calling on supermarkets to take immediate action to help consumers with the cost of living crisis.
