Which? comments on the news that Ryanair's quarterly profits more than doubled due to Easter demand and fare increases

Rory Boland, Which? Travel Editor, said:

"While Ryanair profits may have soared, for passengers, it's all too often been a different story.

"From charging parents to sit with toddlers to the rising complaints from passengers who claim they were wrongly forced to pay a hefty penalty fee for correctly sized cabin bag, it seems that Ryanair has a great track record in always putting profits well before customers.

"Our research has repeatedly shown that once you look beyond the headline fare at the startling and ever lengthening list of extra Ryanair fees and charges, it can be cheaper to fly with other, better airlines."
