Which? comments on whether energy customers should consider switching

1 min read

Natalie Hitchins, Which? Head of Home Products and Services, said:

"With the price cap predicted to rise to over £2,800 in October, many people will be wondering if they're better off sticking on a variable tariff or switching to a fixed deal.

"Some pricier fixed deals have returned to the market but whether they are worth it will depend on people's individual circumstances.

"If fixed tariff deals are available below the predicted October price cap, consumers should calculate how much their variable tariffs unit rates are predicted to rise and how this compares with the fixed deal's unit rate to determine whether this deal would be cheaper for them in the long run. If it is, they should consider switching."
