Which? responds as CMA investigates Simba Sleep’s online sales practices

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

"Mattresses are a substantial purchase, and consumers want to know they're getting the best possible product for their money. Worryingly though, some firms appear to be using misleading hurry warnings and countdown clocks which may lead consumers into believing the advertised price is time limited, practices Which? has found can lead to consumers buying on impulse and spending more than they intend.

"Which? is writing to companies in the sector to urge them to immediately stop any practices which may potentially mislead consumers and could therefore breach consumer law. We are currently conducting our own investigation and will be publishing our findings in the new year.

"The regulator should take strong action against any firms failing to change their practices."
