Sue Davies, Which? Head of Consumer Protection Policy, said: "Whether it's their availability close to home or on long journeys, Which? research has shown that anxiety around charging is one of the top barriers preventing consumers from switching to an EV. That so few local councils have published EV transition plans will not ease those concerns. "The current availability of public charge points is inadequate in some areas and the expansion of the charging network is happening too slowly. "For this country's transition to EVs to be successful, improving flawed charging infrastructure is crucial. There has to be a joined up approach between governments, industry and local authorities to deliver a user-friendly charging network that meets the needs of all drivers across the UK, no matter where they live and travel."
