Which? responds to BBC Panorama's Revolut investigation

1 min read

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

"These revelations echo Which? research that found shocking treatment of scam victims by Revolut and suggest that some banks and payment firms are not taking fraud seriously enough.

"The payments regulator recently slashed the maximum limit for scam reimbursement and, in doing so, it reduced the financial incentive for firms like Revolut to improve their fraud security. Instead of offering concessions, the government and regulators need to ensure payment firms and online platforms put in place meaningful measures to protect their customers from fraud.

"The Home Office must lead a joined-up plan that puts the public and victims of fraud first and ensures all government departments and business sectors take responsibility for tackling scams."
