Sue Davies, Which? Head of Consumer Protection Policy, said: "With sky-high energy prices, it is not surprising that homeowners are looking for more efficient ways to keep their homes warm, such as installing insulation or solar panels. However, these projects can be complicated and unfortunately, consumers are sometimes left at the mercy of unscrupulous traders, which can lead to them being misled or ripped off. "Too often consumers struggle to find traders they can trust, experience problems with the quality of the work and when it doesn't deliver the expected results struggle to get it rectified and receive compensation. "It is vital that the CMA's investigation gets to the bottom of the problem and action is taken to strengthen consumer protection in this area so people can make these important home improvements with confidence." -ENDS-
