Which? responds to government fuel poverty figures
Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:
"These concerning figures prove that energy affordability issues have not gone away - and the issue is exacerbated by draughty homes and poor insulation.
"Improving the insulation of homes helps to cut energy bills, increases levels of comfort and warmth and is good for the environment, but households will need support from the government and businesses to overcome some of the significant barriers to making the transition to energy-efficient homes.
"The government should ensure households living in fuel poverty are aware they have access to insulation schemes run by the government or their energy provider. Consumers that think they may be eligible should speak to their energy provider or use the government's website to check which schemes they are eligible for."
