Which? responds to Home Office plans to crack down on number spoofing
1 min read
Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:
“Number spoofing is a key tactic used by scammers to steal from consumers, so it’s crucial that phone companies put a stop to this.
“We’re pleased to see the Home Office’s announcement today and the government must continue to treat tackling the UK’s fraud epidemic as a top priority. It’s also encouraging to see the government embrace data sharing between public and private sectors - cooperation will be key to combatting scams given the interconnected nature of modern fraud.
“The Home Office must also ensure that the upcoming fraud strategy includes a coordinated national approach to preventing scams across the entire fraud ecosystem.”
