Which? responds to the news that Ofcom is investigating EE due to concerns about customer contract information practices

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:  "It's right that Ofcom is investigating EE for potentially not properly communicating new contract details, such as price increases. This is vital information that can help struggling customers ensure they are on the best deals during the cost of living crisis and the regulator must be prepared to take action if EE is found to be in the wrong. "Which? believes that providers should do more to help households facing financial pressures including, carefully assessing what level of mid-contract price rises can be justified in the current economic climate and letting consumers leave without penalty when prices rise mid-contract - regardless of whether or not these increases can be said to be 'transparent'. Firms should also ensure eligible households are able to move to social tariffs without incurring any financial penalties." ENDSNotes to editors Which recently launched a cost of living campaign calling on businesses to take action to support consumers through the cost of living crisis.
