Which? responds to warnings that almost 11 million households could be in fuel poverty by April

1 min read
Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:  "The government's decision to end universal energy support in April risks throwing millions of households across the country - not just the most financially vulnerable - into fuel poverty. "The government must clarify how they will support those struggling to make ends meet beyond the spring and ensure that as energy prices remain incredibly high, consumers are not left out in the cold. "In the meantime, the government and energy providers must work together to ensure all pre-payment customers access the financial support they're entitled to and that energy providers' customer support services can meet demand from worried consumers. The government must also go all out to turbocharge the adoption of energy efficiency measures - such as home insulation - to help reduce households' energy bills in the long-term."
