Which? response as CMA to investigate Apple and Google mobile ecosystem dominance

1 min read
Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said: "The CMA's findings suggest that Apple and Google's strong positions in the mobile market make it harder for other companies to bring new and innovative services to the market. Less innovation can mean consumers missing out, and potentially facing higher prices, so it's right that the regulator is investigating further, and can take action if needed. "This is the latest in a long line of instances where the dominance of a handful of tech giants has been found to be limiting competition and could be causing harm to consumers. It's vital that the government gives powers to the Digital Markets Unit so it can properly tackle the lack of competition in digital markets."
