Test scoreShow Context
- Smoke alarm
- Mains only
- Optical smoke alarm
The FireAngel SW1-R mains-powered smoke alarm uses an optical sensor to detect smoke. It can be installed as part of a network of up to 12 other smoke, carbon monoxide or heat alarms from FireAngel, and this means that it will be suitable for homes in Scotland after the law changes in 2022. It also comes with a 9V back-up battery, so if you have a power cut, the smoke alarm will still be able to detect smoke and sound the alarm. And the manufacturer provides a five-year warranty to cover the lifetime of the alarm. But how good is it at detecting smoke? We tested it in four different fire scenarios to find out. Read on for the full results of the fire tests we put this FireAngel mains-powered smoke alarm through.
