The Kidde Firex KF30 is a mains-powered linkable heat alarm that detects and sounds when temperatures rise. It’s designed for places such as the kitchen or a garage, where smoke from cooking or fumes from a vehicle could cause false alarms with traditional smoke alarms. In case of mains failure it comes with a 10-year sealed battery back-up. It’s a linkable model that can be paired with the following Kidde Firex smoke alarms: KF20, KF20R, KF30, KF10, KF10R, KF2, KF2R, KF3, KF3R, KF1 and KF1R. This makes it suitable for homes in Scotland when the heat and smoke alarms law changes in 2022. It comes with a six-year guarantee. But is it any good at detecting rises in temperature? To find out, we tested it in the lab. Read on for our full review of this Kidde Firex heat alarm.
