We’ve quizzed more than 5,700 Which? members about their sofas to discover the best – and the worst – sofa brands and retailers for customer satisfaction.
A sofa is a sizeable investment and one that not only needs to stand the test of time when it comes to sitting in comfort, but look good too. According to our exclusive survey, the brand you choose can make a big difference to your sofa's look and feel.
Nobody wants to wait longer than they need for their sofa to arrive, or have to deal with shoddy customer service, so we've also rated the best shops to buy your sofa from so you can shop with confidence.

Some sofa shops – such as DFS or Ikea – sell only their own brands of sofa, while others, such as John Lewis, sell a variety of sofa brands.
Our sofa retailer survey is focused on shopping experience, including delivery and customer service, rather than the details of the specific sofa purchased.

Which? customer scores are based on how satisfied customers are with the brand overall, and whether or not they’d recommend it to a friend.
To find out which are the best and worst sofa brands and retailers, in March 2019 we surveyed 5,715 Which? members who'd bought a sofa in the past 10 years and asked about their experiences with the retailer they bought it from and the sofa brand itself.
Overall customer scores are based on how satisfied customers were with the brand or retailer, and how likely they were to recommend it to a friend.
