Samsung’s QLED tech used to be reserved for its high-end TVs, but it has trickled down the ranges, and now some of the cheapest models also offer colour-boosting quantum dots. The 55-inch QE55Q7F2AUXXU is basic in other ways, but should be a good option for anyone looking for a strong TV who doesn’t need flashy features. Read our review to see if it’s worth buying.

Energy use
How we test energy use
Based on the power usage when being viewed and in standby and the presence and effectiveness of power-saving features such as a light sensor or radio screen blanking. Power usage can vary massively depending on the type of TV. OLED TVs tend to use less power than LED TVs since they don't have backlights.

How we test connections and tuners
A TV with plenty of connection ports allows you to hook up lots of different devices at once. Likewise, TVs with more digital TV tuners give you more options for watching subscription-free TV.
