Where can I go on holiday in Europe? Will I have to quarantine?
With European countries now easing coronavirus-related restrictions, some airlines and holiday companies have started to sell summer holidays again. But is it safe to book? From being barred entry, to bars and beaches being closed, we take you through what you need to know country by country.
Use our interactive map below to make sure you don't book a holiday to a country whose borders are closed to UK nationals, or a hotel in a nation that requires you to quarantine for two weeks on arrival.
Crucially, regardless of the country you're considering, you can't yet travel abroad. Government rules or laws in all four nations of the UK prevent you from travelling to the airport for non-essential purposes. And the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) still advises against all but essential travel overseas. Even when those restrictions are lifted, you will also need to factor in 14 days of quarantine measures on arrival back in the UK.

It's important to remember when booking that, while bars and beaches may be open, restrictions on numbers might be in place. This could make it more difficult to get reservations for dinner and harder to get a spot on the beach.
You may also want to consider that many insurance companies aren't taking on new customers. If you book without travel insurance, you run the risk of losing money paid out for the holiday if the UK retightens restrictions or a country introduces quarantine rules. Unless you already have insurance in place, most insurers will not cover you if you fall ill with COVID-19 while on holiday.
