Dyson Week sees prices slashed on popular products – but which deals are worth it?

With up to £150 off air purifiers, vacuums and the coveted Supersonic hair dryer, 'Dyson Week' is here. But which products from the sale are actually worth it?
Dyson v8 and v6 cordless vacuum cleaners 466478

Hosting an eponymous sale, Dyson is cutting prices on popular products until 5 March when you buy from it directly. We've scanned the bargains to see which of the Which?-tested items make the cut.

Dyson is a very popular brand with our members. We've tested several of its products and some of them even managed to blow us away. They're not without hefty prices though, and some devices have critically blundered in our testing – a few even earning our dreaded Don't Buy label.

It may be tempting to pick up a bargain this 'Dyson Week', but we're looking into whether these deals are worth it or if you can get a better deal elsewhere.

If you're a Which? member, be sure to log in to see how each of these products did in our rigorous testing.

Best Dyson deals

Dyson Supersonic hair dryer

  • Sale price on Dyson: £300
  • Cheapest price in the past six months? No, was £280 from Dyson in December 2023
  • Is it on sale anywhere else? No
Dyson supersonic hair dryer and accessories

We like: It's like a small jet engine

We don't like: Twice as expensive as other high-end models

While it's not the cheapest it's been from Dyson, it's uncommon to see significant discounts on this coveted hair dryer. This particular bundle comes with the usual five styling attachments, as well as a case to store everything. If you're after a case and all the attachments, this isn't a bad deal – it's just not the best we've seen.

Our verdict: While there were more savings a few months ago, it's unlikely to see similar deals until the next Black Friday. If you don't mind waiting, you can get additional savings, although don't expect them to be massive – only an extra £20 or so off.

You can buy direct from Dyson, or compare prices below:

If £300 is a bit too much, you can pick up a Dyson Supersonic 'Origin' for £20 cheaper. It's the same hair dryer but doesn't come with all the attachments – only the styling concentrator is included.

Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute

  • Sale price on Dyson: £430
  • Cheapest price in the past six months? No, it's currently £400 from Donaghy Bros
  • Is it on sale anywhere else? Yes: Available from Donaghy Bros (£399.99)

We like: Dust data and metrics

We don't like: Not the quietest vacuum

This lightweight cordless vacuum has several of the hi-tech features we like from Dyson's Detect series in a smaller and cheaper package. There's a digital screen that tracks dust particles, displays battery life, and sends maintenance alerts.

Dyson's deal also includes an extra hair screw tool attachment worth £50. Although it's worth noting that the Dyson website states it will only fit on the V15, Outsize, V11, V10, and V8 vacuums – not the V12.

Our verdict: It's one of the cheapest Dyson cordless vacuums available right now. You can also consider getting the older V8 Animal for £297 from Go Electrical, but if you're after the newer hi-tech detection features this is a good deal, especially when you buy from Donaghy Bros. If you're after the extra attachment, buy from Dyson. But we'd rather have the extra £30 off.

You can read our review on the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute to see if it's worth the hundreds of pounds.

Dyson V15 Detect Absolute

  • Sale price on Dyson: £600
  • Cheapest price in the last six months? No, was £550 in November, 2023
  • Is it on sale anywhere else? Yes: SQUIRREL_TEXT_12853231
Dyson V15 detect absolute vacuum and accessories

We like: Lots of accessories and attachments

We don't like: Have to constantly hold down the power trigger

One of Dyson's most hi-tech cordless vacuums, it can measure how much dust you suck up and categorise it by size. Dyson claims you can get up to 60 minutes of run time, so you won't need to interrupt your vacuuming by having to charge it again.

Last week, Dyson's deal got you £80 off this model. They've bumped it up to £100 off now. If you'd rather get it elsewhere, you can get it at Currys, where it's on sale for £100 off, too.

Our verdict: It's a pretty good deal especially now that Dyson's lowered it further. It's not the best price we've seen, but it's still a decent bargain.

The Dyson Week deals that aren't worth it

Dyson Zone Absolute+

  • Sale price on Dyson: £580
  • Cheapest price in the past six months? Yes
  • Is it on sale anywhere else? No
Zone headphones and air purifier

These futuristic-looking headphones have had a price slash, but they're still pricier than the notoriously expensive Apple AirPods Max (£499).

They're heavy (over 100g heavier than the AirPods Max, our next-heaviest headphones), and you're bound to get some weird looks in public for these – our testers certainly did.

Our verdict: If you couldn't already tell, we weren't very impressed by these. We don't feel they're are the best bang for your buck. You can read our initial thoughts for free in our first look review, or log in and read our full test results

Before you buy, read our Dyson Zone Absolute+ review, or read our first look review to see what we'd recommend buying instead. If you want to buy it anyway, you can check out the deal on Dyson.

Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde HP09

  • Sale price on Dyson: £570
  • Cheapest price in the past six months? No, it's currently £550 from Go Electrical
  • Is it on sale anywhere else? Yes: SQUIRREL_TEXT_12877130
Dyson Hot+Cool Formaldehyde HP09 air purifier

We like: Energy efficient

We don't like: Outrageously expensive

This air purifier attempts to be an all-in-one solution for heating, cooling and air purifying a room. While we like that it's an all-in-one package, we've often found in our testing that you're better off getting separate devices for each function. Considering that you can get a Best Buy air purifier, fan and electric heater for under £300, it's not a great bargain.

To top it off, you can pick up this deal for £20 cheaper when you buy from Go Electrical.

Our verdict: Not worth it. Even if it was over half off, it still wouldn't meet our criteria to recommend it as a deal. You'll need to log in or read our review to find out more.
