DSIT consultation on Open Communications: A Smart Data scheme for the UK telecoms market - Which? response
Which? has responded to DSIT's consultation on a proposal to establish a smart
data scheme in the telecoms sector, emphasising the importance of consumer
protections

Which? is pleased that DSIT is exploring the potential of a Smart Data scheme in the telecoms market. We are excited about the opportunities that Smart Data could bring for consumers. Open Communications could bring many benefits, including financial benefits, time saving and improved quality of products and services.
At the same time, it is critical that consumer protections are embedded in the design of an Open Communications Scheme when DSIT progresses with Secondary Regulations post Data Protection and Digital Information (DPDI) Bill.
