Which? comments on the news that some Hogmanay and New Year's Eve events have been cancelled due to bad weather
Lisa Webb, Which? Consumer Law Expert, said:
"Many partygoers will be disappointed to hear that some Hogmanay events in Edinburgh and several New Year's Eve events in the UK have been cancelled due to the weather.
"Organisers of the cancelled outdoor Hogmanay events in Edinburgh have said they will get in touch with affected customers with information about how to claim refunds.
"If the bad weather results in transport being disrupted, remember that you're entitled to a refund for any cancelled fares but you're unlikely to be owed any compensation. Check your travel insurance to see if it'll cover you for cancelled events too, as you may be able to recover the cost of any unused transport or accommodation as a result of the celebrations being called off."
