Which? responds to ASA warning about unsafe baby products

1 min read

Sue Davies, Which? Head of Consumer Protection Policy, said:

“It is terrible, but not surprising, that online ads are targeting exhausted parents with products and practices that put their children at risk of serious harm or death.

“The ASA is right to sound the alarm. Which? investigations have exposed dangerous baby products time and again, especially on online marketplaces where safety checks are utterly inadequate.“

Children will never be safe while online marketplaces face no consequences for allowing the sale of dangerous products. Instead of issuing alert after alert about potentially lethal baby products, the OPSS should back stronger product safety laws that give online marketplaces a clear legal duty to ensure that products are safe.”
