Which? responds to campaign urging telecare users to contact their landline provider ahead of the digital switchover

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

"Moving from the current analogue landline system to a new digital network will give landline customers clearer, more reliable connections but these changes will understandably be worrying for anyone who has a telecare device.

"As we move closer towards the switchover deadline in January 2027, the government needs to take action to ensure all telecare devices sold online are compatible with the new system. This should include setting out a clear timeline for when analogue devices should no longer be sold.

"If you have a telecare system, your landline provider should reach out to offer support but if you haven't heard or have any questions, you should contact them directly to get the help you need. Telecare and landline companies must ensure that no vulnerable customers are switched until they have a working telecare device."
