Which? responds to the news that O2 is pushing ahead with price increases of over 17 per cent

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

"With many struggling to make ends meet during the cost of living crisis, O2 is showing no regard for its customers' finances by pressing ahead with these eye-watering price hikes.

"Ofcom is currently reviewing this model of above inflation price hikes baked into mobile and broadband contracts amid concerns that it is unclear and unpredictable for consumers. Many customers on these contracts currently find themselves trapped and facing a choice between price increases or harsh exit fees if they want to switch to a better deal.

"Which? is calling for all providers to allow all customers to exit their contracts penalty free if their tariff does go up mid-contract and cancel 2023 hikes for financially vulnerable consumers."
