Which? response to Virgin Media O2 pledging to increase awareness of social tariffs
Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:
"Our research has found that many eligible customers don't even know that social tariffs exist so it is good to see Virgin Media O2 announce it will be taking steps to drive more awareness, something Which? has called for in response to the cost of living crisis.
"However, Virgin could help all its customers with soaring living costs by scrapping unpredictable and unfair mid-contract price hikes next year. To protect people during the cost of living crisis, Ofcom must ban unpredictable mid-contract price hikes across the board and give people certainty about exactly how much their contract will cost when they sign up.”
