Which? fitted bedroom furniture brand reviews

To get the results in the table above, in June 2018, we asked 1,172 Which? members who had bought their fitted bedroom furniture in the previous five years to rate their buying experiences. We also asked people who had bought their furniture between six and 10 years ago how it had stood the test of time.

Fitted bedroom furniture includes made-to-measure furniture and wardrobes, as well as furniture and wardrobes selected to fit a specific space. It doesn't include freestanding items.

These ratings are only for the buying experience, not for the installation of the furniture.

Common fitted bedroom furniture delivery problems

Thankfully, 84% of people we asked didn't experience any issues with the delivery. But of those who did, the top three complications they experienced were:

  • Parts/pieces were missing (27%)
  • Parts/pieces were damaged (25%)
  • The wrong parts were delivered (24%)

Delivery times

For the highest proportion of people (33%), it took one month for their furniture to be delivered. For nearly a quarter, it took a lengthier two months. Fitted bedroom furniture is usually made to measure to your exact specifications, so a lengthy delivery time isn't surprising.

On average, Hammonds bedroom furniture took the longest time to be delivered, at just under two months.

Ikea was the quickest for delivery. It doesn't provide bespoke furniture, but does have a wide range of fitted furniture that can be tailored to your space and needs.

Common fitted bedroom furniture installation problems

We asked people about any installation issues they experienced with their wardrobes. The vast majority (80%) didn't have any problems.

However, 20% had some sort of hiccup. The top reasons for this were:

  • poor quality workmanship;
  • measurements of the space turned out to be wrong;
  • it didn't fit into the space as well as it should have;
  • the installation took longer than planned.

Overall, small numbers of people were inconvenienced by these setbacks. But it's worth bearing them in mind, particularly when it comes to ensuring measurements are accurate.
