National Heat Pump Week: Ask me anything about heat pumps

Join Which? for a free online Q&A with a heat pump installer and owner to answer your questions

Championing consumers since 1957, our team of over 150 expert researchers and editors test, investigate, and campaign to protect your rights and help you shop smarter

Got questions about how a heat pump might work in your home? We're partnering with social innovation agency Nesta to bring you a free online webinar featuring heat pump experts and someone who already has one installed.

Increasing the adoption of heat pumps is essential to reducing carbon emissions from our homes and helping people avoid being locked into fossil fuel boilers for another 15 years. However, many people lack clear, credible information when weighing up their heating options. With few people having seen a heat pump in real life, and plenty of misconceptions still circulating, deciding whether one is right for your home can feel daunting.

On Wednesday 14 October 2026, 12:00-13:00 (BST), during National Heat Pump Week, Nesta is hosting an interactive session with Which? to give you direct access to practical insights and expert knowledge about heat pumps.

Chaired by Codrina Cretu, senior mission manager at Nesta, the panel brings together Emily Seymour, energy and sustainability editor at Which?; Damon Blakemore, a plumbing, heating and renewables engineer; and James Rixon, a heat pump owner. The panel will answer your live and pre-submitted questions, covering common themes as well as options for both heating and cooling.

The discussion will focus on busting common myths, sharing first-hand installation and living experiences and answering the questions you really want to ask about clean heat. You can also learn more about Which?'s free home energy planning service.

You'll leave with the confidence to make informed decisions about your home's heating future, with signposting to practical guidance and trusted tools including getaheatpump.org.uk and visitaheatpump.com to support your next steps.

This online webinar is for anyone at any stage of their heat pump journey who wants reliable answers from those who know clean heat best.
