Safetots Self-closing Gate review
The sample of this stair gate that we tested failed a key safety test that checks whether a gate is strong enough to withstand repeated pushing and pulling over time.
It became dislodged and could mean a child’s safety is at risk, which is why we’ve made it a Don’t Buy.
Safetots has disputed our findings. It told us that the gate has been exhaustively tested in China and the UK, and has successfully satisfied the selected requirements of BS EN 1930:2011. This is the same standard that Which? tests to.

- Pressure fit
The SafeTots Self-Closing stair gate is a pressure-fit gate that will close behind you once you've walked through it, giving you reassurance that the gate will stay closed when it needs to. However, we've made this stair gate a Don't Buy because it failed a test in a key safety standard, which could mean it puts your child at risk of hurting themselves.
